Xplore
Xplore
is a sailing vessel specifically designed and built for the extreme
conditions of the Southern Ocean, as proven in Antarctica, and two
circumnavigations. A fast, heavy-weather sailing yacht, Xplore has
strong motoring capabilities for when time and conditions demand. | Experienced sailors and novices alike will recognize Xplore as 'the right boat for the job' with the overall feel of a practical, well laid out, immensely robust and very seaworthy yacht. |
Xplore is self-sufficient at seaand in remote areas for extended periods of time; Xplore has generous fuel and water capabilities, with areas above and below decks for the demands of an expedition support platform.
It is important for the high latitude sailing and exploring we do, that Xplore is constructed of steel, high-strength low-alloy (HSLA) for durability in ice and rock-strewn regions. At 20.42 meters (67-ft.), with a 12-person capacity (including crew) Xplore has a comfortable layout which provides space and privacy within the 6 cabin layout.
Below there is a warmth and comfort conducive to long periods away, particularly in high latitude and polar regions. Xplore was carefully chosen after a world-wide search, then commenced a 10 month re-fit and modifications to customize it for the south.

Claymore II
The Claymore II is our supply ship which calls at Pitcairn quarterly. It is a working vessel not a luxury cruise ship but it is comfortable and sturdy.
The vessel accommodates 12 passengers in private twin share cabins on the lower deck and guests have their own shared dinning and lounge area on an upper deck with plenty of books and movies to pass the time.
Being a motor vessel, fares are more expensive but if you are not as agile or fit it may suit you better than a sailing vessel.
